shape

shape:

when using shape in photography it shows the outline of a object. These six images are examples of the way shapes can be used.

This photograph of a silhouette is an example of shape because it shows the outline of the upper face from the shoulders to the head. You can see the outline of the eyes, nose and mouth from a side view. This image is black so that you concentrate on the actual shape of the photo not the detail.

From this photograph you can see two different types of shape, the object itself which is a 3D circle that is used to create the other shape that is a heart. I think this image is interesting as it creates a different kind of shape that you wouldn't normal find on or from a object.

This image of the white tubes makes a circular shape. You can tell from the picture that the tubes are 3D shapes because you can see through them and they form a dark shadow. I think this image is quite plain and could have been taken from a better angle but it shows a good example of shape.

The shapes made in the photograph are shown from a reflection of the sun making the shapes appear onto the table. These shapes are also circles. I like this image because of the way it is made black and white it draws the eye to the circles as they are white.

In this image of the buildings you can see that the shapes are shown through the actual building shapes. The shapes are formed by different types of lines. For example: the thick, wide lines forming the key shaped outside and then the small lines making the shape of the building.

This image is taken from below the stairs creating a swirl shape from the lines used on the stair case. I like this image because of the angle it is taken from, i think it makes the stairs almost seem as if they go on forever.
